We need King!

The King's proclamation was still in favor of Constitutional Monarchy. He said he gave power back to the people. We have not seen any reaction from the SPAM yet but we believe the power hungry leaders will now either start fighting for PM post, or go their way to establish what they call ganatantra. In no way these leaders can do good to the nation. They have shown that in the past.
The nation needs king, his direct rule. He is the only able man. He must first educate all properly so that no one will come to the streets again, then only he can give power to the people, the educated people, who will then choose their own government.
Now we choose king!
Long Live King Gyanendra!

King's address to the nation today

We all hope that the king will be strong in his address and break the backs and wills of SPAM and their supporters!
I read what Moriarty said in CNN website. I condemn what he has said about the King. This is not an American state. This is Nepal.
Hope to write again immediately after the speech ends.

Protest report from Gaighat: Can't trust Kantipur and BBC

Yesterday there were about 3500 people in the largest ever protest rally in Gaighat. The number is my counting. Others say it was about 7000. 20-25% were kids. People from neighboring villages and different parts of Triyuga Municipality had arrived to take part in the rally, but most of them came because of warnings from Maoists and the SPA.

Later, they vandalised the house of vice-chairman of DDC, Ramchandra, for the second time. This time they brought out clothes from the shop in the house and burnt them. The security men didnt arrive until much of the house was destroyed. When they had arrived the crowd was displaced itself. Later another group came protesting. The police didn't intervene but the protestors started pelting stones. As a result the police started beating the protestors, and fired tear gas shells. Soon the crowd of more than 3500 people was nowhere. But still some of them pelt stones hiding on the rooftop, etc.

But to our dismay, we heard Kantipur FM, the only radio that people get to hear 'loud and clear', reporting that more than 200 people were hurt and some hit with bullets, when only about 2-3 people were hurt and none hit with any bullets as no bullets were fired. The BBC reported that police intervened because the protestors were entering restricted area. It is false too. Everything happened in the street, near the house of Ramchandra. And it was the protestors who first pelted stones at the policemen.

We were watching all that happening from inside our house. And the tear gas instead of reaching the protestors reached inside our houses. We were very uncomfortable with this. As there was no internet, and the phone line was disturbed, I couldnt post anything yesterday.

Provincial President of the WHF Om Prakash Singhal said that the attempts made by the political parties and the Maoists to isolate the King of Nepal would not be tolerated. He said that they would not lag behind in calling upon all the Hindus to extend whatever assistance is required for the Nepalese monarch

Some of the forum posts said:

1. if u turn the profiles of nepal politicians.. most are I.A. fail.. they get into politics.. leaving studies.. coz in nepal politics start fromn govt campus level.. when uneducated people rule the country,... obviously the country goes down the drain.. be thankful that the king is well educated... and has strong ability to make firm decisions.. and be patient for the next 3 years.

2. I support the King and I think we should all support his move. Nepal is what it is today because of these stupid politicians who cares more about themselves rather than the country. What have they not done to spoil the country? Their corruption and selfishness led to the birth of maoists. Were there such thing as Nepali maoists before 1990? I think not. Atleast normal nepali people could carry on with their life ... goto work ... goto school ..... without having to worry too much about what we have to worry about today. These politicians could have done so much for the country in these 14 years; but no, they just used the power of democracy to benifit themselves. Unless these people are shot dead or completely brainwashed, there is no use of democracy in our country. Even now, if u read Girija's recent comments, hez callling upon all the nepalese to go onto streets and protest against King. Why? Not cuz he cares much about people's freedom, but cuz hez gonna loose all the luxury and benifits that so called "democracy" which he've been enjoyin' and abusin' since day 1. All these politicians are like that. Corrupted inside out. Now the King has brought us all, who r tired of these stupid politicians, a new hope. No one knows whats gonna happen tomorrow...what the king will end up doing; all we can do is hope ..... lets hope that whatever King does, he does it for his country ..... let us all support his move for the betterment of our country. PEACE.

3. i support the King..coz he is determined to do somthing--as it seems..but he just hasnt got the chance...becouse the maoists+the political partyz.aint doin much...theyr onli burnin tires and holdin conferences in some random chowk and jus blabberin away...

most countryz now think that the King is tryna lead a country and he's tryna dictate but that aint correct- coz he's tryin his best.i fink..he jus aint getin encouragement from his people..

What percentage of people support the King?

One e-discussion/poll in 2004 clearly shows the margin between those who favor the direct rule of the king and those who don’t:
Favor: 65.71%
Against: 20.47%
Others (Errors/Out of Topic/Not sure/Repeated Posting):13.80%
The percentage has been deducted from total of 210 postings.
The URL of the discussion board is
http://www.nepalpoll.com.np/news/npoll_mk/newResponse.asp?id=206&state=0
I took several hours reading each and every posting carefully and recording if they were in favor or against the direct rule of the king.

Panchayat or Multi-Party Democracy?

Some of the points in the following (brown colored) from a website are false arguments.

Under the "Panchayat Democracy"
  • no political parties were allowed
  • human rights were denied
  • corruption was rampant
  • state money was misused
  • economic development did not take place
  • "nationalist" slogans were given, but no improvement in the day-to-day life of the people was realized
In fact, the level of human rights violation increased after the arrival of Multi-party Democracy, more people were killed and corruption became prominent.
During Panchayat Democracy, there were least human rights violations, least corruption and least misuse of state money. There were brilliant development works, which have now resumed after the coming of new government under the king.

Democracy: The only concern is the nature

We must learn to live in tolerance. No one can offend or insult any other. If we get to learn this, which I call is the ‘theory of everything’ or the “Grand Unified Theory (GUT)”, there will be peace everywhere. No one will have to worry about their choices.
Our concern should be the conservation of Nature, the world.
If you think something is going wrong, you can apprise people of that. You just can’t go on aggressively to what is wrong.
Not to aggress is the way to complete freedom: The foundation of democracy.

Don't use children, please!

Trouble in Nepal for Loktantra

[From a post in a forum on topic : Trouble in Nepal for Loktantra]

I don't see any support from the people. Only some people are going to the streets and destroying public facilities. Once such incident happened last night, when some protestors (2-3) came with torches 'ordering' people to turn off the lights as part of their protest program in very harsh and insolent way. They smashed the street lights and pelted stones at homes who nearly refused to turn off the lights. 4-5 little kids were also following them, who were shouting at people to follow their 'orders'. I was so annoyed that I replied impudently, asking who they were to order us to turn off the lights. They looked so much in hurry that I didn't hear any reply. However, some other homes who refused were pelted with stones.

The largest media groups themselves are calling the protests peaceful. Even when only 25-30 protestors take control of the streets, the media exaggerates the no. to 1000. The people are only afraid to speak against them and defy the aam-hadtal/banda (strike). All this is only disrupting services, and daily business of the people of Nepal. They could do something worthy and productive rather than waste their time in creating violence and chaos in the nation. The nation would have been wealthier if their minds had something good in them.

The government is not suppressing the movement as they say. There have been involvements of the terrorist group and they themselves confirmed it today (Only the 7-partymen were disapproving the claim of the govt.). Some of them have also been arrested by the security men. Every government would try to stop or at least minimize the disorder and unrest rising in the nation.

The protesting party leaders themselves are not very well educated and were proved to be corrupt and unsuccessful during their rules. Why not give the king a chance, when he has assured people of giving peace by taking the challenge in his hands? After all he is very well educated and has a great personality having decorated with several international medals for his works on nature conservation. And that the royal family has a history of more than 200 years of ruling Nepal. Its his ancestor, King Prithvi Narayan Shah, who unified Nepal, that we now have this nation with diverse cultures, languages and nature.

It would be better if we stopped fighting and join hands, before its too late. Losing King, would be losing identity. There are very dangerous powers who are looking forward to take hold of the Nepalese land. We will no more be Nepalese then, the unique flag will be gone, Mt. Everest will belong to some other more than to us, Gautam Buddha's country will be another country, and thus we will have no identity at all.

And at last, let me tell you, democracy still prevails in the country, that even when the protestors are using swear words at the king himself, they are freely doing it out in the streets. The arrests that we hear on the news are only from select few areas where the demonstrations have reached a critical level, i.e. out of control.

(Right now in Gaighat/Eastern Nepal)

PS: There's no reason boycotting the elections declared by the king, and trying to throw the king out of his regime. The king must not give in this time, for there are a lot of dangers facing the nation.

False News: Violation of Human Rights in Nepal Protests

Nepali media is forwarding false news to the foreigners, and other Nepalese people living outside Nepal. Even in Nepal we get to hear false news. For example: The city where I live, Gaighat, had no more than 25 people in protests rallies, except in one yesterday, which included about 100. They were using swear words [like Chhapkaide, meaning slaughter, to the king and many other words I cannot disclose] that many people dont want to hear. They burned tyres, smashed the street lights and told people in very harsh voice and language to turn off the lights as part of their protest campaign in the evening yesterday. But the media said thousands of the protestors came to the streets in a peaceful rally. Thats unlawful and inhuman to report such false news.
